Bloomfield Savings Institution opened in 1871, and th edifice with the large columns was constructed in 1909. The colorized picture on the right was drawn about 1938. The building was combined with the building to its left (see picture below).

Bloomfield Bank & Trust Company, corner of Broad Street and Bloomfield Avenue, about 1930 and 1940. The eight-story wedge-shaped building remains a landmark for those entering Bloomfield from the south on Bloomfield Avenue. This building replaced the original 1902 Bloomfield Bank building in 1929, when Bloomfield Bank merged with its across-the-street competitor, Bloomfield Trust Company. The bank occupied only the bottom story, while the upper floors were leased to tenant businesses.

The Bloomfield Bank building was replaced by the Bloomfield Bank & Trust Building (below) in about 1929. The cobblestone paving is visible in this image.
The Park Building, 50 Broad Street, about 1930. Tenant businesses at the time of this photo included J Moglia ice cream shop; Olson's (meat) Market; JVC Dress Shop; National Grocery Company; Stephens Pharmacy; Whitney H Roddy real estate and insurance; Raymond B Flatt, architect; Bloomfield Letter Service Company; R M Carrick, dentist; and [Dr.] Walter M Miller. Herman Wolf's Garage was in the rear of the building. The building became Lipton's department store (see next picture) about 1940.

Lipton's department store, about 1960. Abraham Lipton relocated his women's clothing store from its original location farther south on Broad Street to 50 Broad Street, where it operated until 19__.

Frankin Arms Tea Room, about 1970. A pre-Revolutionary Davis family residence was converted to a restaurant, and still operates today as the Bloomfield Steak & Seafood House.
State Diner, about 1950. This restaurant became Willie's Diner from 19__ to 19__, then the _____, and in 200[6] became the State Street __________.
Bloomfield Avenue, early 1960s. S.S. Kresge store, visible on right, operated until 19__. The Kresge chain eventually became K-Mart.

The building with the red sign is F.W. Woolworth in its final location, where it operated until 19[75]. The expanded and modernized Bloomfield Savings Bank building is visible to Woolworth's left. In 19__, Bloomfield Savings Bank was acquired by Provident Savings Bank.
