The artist for this watercolor painting and the one below is unknown. This picture would be in the vicinity of where Spruce Street merges with John F. Kennedy Drive.
 
 The lower picture says "Empty Canal", a refence to the fact that the Morris Canal was abandoned and drained in 1924, the year the picture was dated. The three bridges shown, from closest to farthest, are those of the Erie Railroad (still in existence), Beach Street, and Liberty Street (replaced by the existing Garden State Parkway overpass).
